تشهد المدارس الحكومية انخفاضًا كبيرًا في أعداد الطلاب ، ويرجع ذلك إلى خوف أولياء الأمور من تكرار تجربة هذا العام ، بعد سلسلة إضرابات نظمها المعلمون للمطالبة بحقوقهم ، وبعد فشل الدولة لإيجاد حل جذري لهذه الأزمة التي أدت إلى إغلاقها معظم العام الدراسي. من هنا ، ظهرت عدة تحذيرات من نزوح عكسي ، من المدارس الحكومية إلى المدارس الخاصة ، مما قد يعني الإلغاء الكامل للتعليم النظامي. هل يستطيع التعليم الخاص تحمل هذا الضغط؟
شدد الامين العام للمدارس الكاثوليكية الاب يوسف نصر على ضرورة العمل على ترتيب شؤون المدارس الرسمية حتى تتمكن من مواصلة عملها ، داعيا الى العمل المشترك بين جميع المسؤولين في الدولة اللبنانية من اجل السماح للمدارس الرسمية لتلعب دورها في تربية الطلاب وتعليمهم ، فلكل مواطن لبناني الحق في التعليم. والاختيار بين التعليم العام والخاص.
ويحذر من مشكلة كبيرة تتعلق بمصير طلاب المدارس الحكومية ، إذا واجهوا مشاكل ولم يتمكنوا من فتح أبوابهم ، متسائلاً: "هل يستطيعون الالتحاق بالمدارس الخاصة؟"
تقول نصر: "لا شك أن المدارس الخاصة ، خاصة المجانية منها ، المتوسطة والصغيرة ، والمدارس الطرفية ، قادرة على استيعاب نسبة معينة من الطلاب ، ولكن هل يمكننا استيعاب جميع الطلاب؟ ".
ويؤكد أنه "لا ينبغي الاستهانة بموضوع المدرسة الرسمية ، فهي حاجة في البلاد ولا يمكن الاستغناء عنها ، وإذا تعثر الأمر ، فقد تتمكن المدارس الخاصة ، وخاصة المدارس المتوسطة والحرة ، من يستوعب جزء من الطلاب ولكن ما الحل للجزء المتبقي منهم؟ ".
يرى نصر أن "الاهتمام التربوي يجب أن يكون من أولويات المسؤولين ، خاصة أننا في مرحلة الإعداد للعام الدراسي المقبل ، وشهر سبتمبر هو الاستعدادات الفعلية والعملية ، لذلك يجب وضع خطة تعليمية ورؤية واضحة. أعدتها الجهات المعنية الحكومة ووزارة التربية والتعليم المعنية بالمدرسة الرسمية في المقام الأول لتوفير الاستقرار اللازم لأولياء الأمور والطلاب ، ومنع المدرسة الرسمية من التعرض للاهتزازات والأوتاد تعال من هنا وهناك ".
